MELANIE P. JENNINGS: Like any other case, preparation of divorce cases relies on perseverance, information from the client, and due process afforded under the law.

DEBORAH O. JENNINGS: The firm approaches family law cases on an individual basis. Each client's case presents different issues, different opportunities, different problems. And so we try to tailor our response to each client according to what he or she comes in and represents that they need or they want.

MELANIE P. JENNINGS: You want your client to feel that the court has heard them. You want them to know that they have had an opportunity for a decision maker to have as much information as is possible to make an informed decision based on the law. You want them to know they've had their day in court. Or in the alternative, you want them to know that there has been a zealous advocate at the table for them in settlement.

They need to know that the attorney did not hold anything back. They need to know that they are not just another file, just another number.
